SUMMARY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
October 22-25th, 2008. FSUE “Novosibirsk Mechanical Plant “Iskra” has held international Science and Technology Conference “10 Years of Russian Non-electric Blast Initiation System (SINV). Experience. Challenges. Prospects”. The conference hosted 121 participants from 63 mining and coal companies, developers and manufacturers of industrial blasting materials, research and advisory centers, academic institutions from different regions of Russia, as well as Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Germany, Mongolia.
The Conference goal was to exchange professional experience in SINV system application, to collect current information on actual customer demands, to reveal development opportunities and ways of improving production.
Participants have reported that many years of application in different geological and climatic conditions prove quality, efficiency and safety of SINV initiation systems. Consumers emphasize that by key parameters “Iskra” products are highly competitive with equivalent devices produced by foreign companies. In this regard a number of major companies have stated their intention to further cooperation. A series of proposals on improving the range of goods and promoting development and testing of products within innovation projects have been brought forward.
The International Conference has recognized efficient operation of “Iskra” mechanical plant in producing competent and safe initiation systems. This guarantees long-range dynamic development of the enterprise in the world market.
